High Roller Submits Application to Enter Crowded Ontario Market
During a January presentation to investors, High Roller Technologies' management discussed plans for strategic expansion aimed at growing their total addressable market for 2025, with a strong desire to penetrate the Ontario market.
The company based in Las Vegas, which runs High Roller and Fruta online casino brands, stated that it has submitted an application for a gaming operator license in Ontario. The aim of the operator is to launch HighRoller.com in the latter half of 2025.
"The submission of our licensing application to access Ontario’s regulated online gambling market is an important milestone in our Company’s journey,” said High Roller CEO Ben Clemes. “Once our application is approved, we anticipate that we will have the opportunity to launch our online casino product into the market later this year.”
Ontario ranks among the largest regulated online gambling markets globally, recording CA$3.2 billion in gross gaming revenue for the financial year spanning from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025.
One of the Biggest Gambling Markets in the World
Casino leads in Ontario with revenue at CA$2.4 billion for the year (36% increase compared to the previous year). Ontario has 49 authorized operators and 83 gaming sites. Seventy-three of those locations feature a casino element.
"Ontario is missing an elegant brand like High Roller,” said Clemes. “We’re excited to roll out the red carpet for our new customers, and we’re looking forward to showcasing our tremendous product.”
In a statement, the company announced its plan to seek a gaming license in Alberta for when that market launches, expected in early 2026.
$2.4 Billion in Earnings
High Roller features a collection of 5,000 games from over 90 top game developers. High Roller went public on the NYSE last year.
The firm secured gaming accolades at the 2024 WN iGaming Summit, such as Casino Operator of the Year, and High Roller’s CMO, Sven Kaltenegger, being honored as iGaming Leader of the Year. High Roller received the Best Player Retention 2024 accolade at the SiGMA Europe B2C Awards.
