Is a New ‘Hangover Experience’ Coming to Las Vegas?

Have you ever woken up in a ruined Caesars Palace room, missing a tooth, and being chased by Mike Tyson's tiger?  Warner Bros. is measuring audience interest in a "Hangover Experience" based on some pretty weak evidence.  Five sequences from the 2009 comedic blockbuster would be brought to life in the 65-minute immersive attraction, a la "The Friends Experience."

A claim made on the show notes page of a Disney fan podcast is where this narrative starts.  An email from Kyle, a listener who said he had received a survey from Warner Bros. Entertainment, was reposted by "Disney Dish" on July 14.

According to reports, the survey inquired about his level of interest in a number of possible immersive experiences.  "The Hangover" served as the basis for one.

Four of the five sets had graphics and captions in Kyle's email.

Caesars Palace isn't labeled, but the first set is the pre-Roofie presidential suite.  The second set, a rooftop encircled by a 360-degree projection of the Las Vegas night skyline, is accessed by a trap door in the bedroom.

Here, “you take a life changing tequila shot as a group, and suddenly everything changes.”

A blacked-out SUV pulls up as the rooftop set shifts into the midst of the Mojave Desert, and "a naked Mr. Chow bursts out of the car demanding his money."

Mr. Chow instructs you to climb into the trunk to reach the next set.  This slide, which is buried here, transports you to a strip club where one of the dancers ends up being married to a member of your group.

"You're shown an AI recording of you and your friends drunkenly stealing from his house all the items you have just pawned," the penultimate set opens with an elevator leading inside Mike Tyson's mansion.

An animatronic tiger is then sent after you by a "mountain sized bodyguard," "chasing you down a hallway."  You can party with those who have just finished the same adventure in the now-trashed penthouse suite, the last set, which is accessible via that hallway.

Did we mention that there was very little evidence to support this?

Can you catch the misspelling here?

 Wolfpack sobbing

We don't think a multibillion-dollar media company would be interested in creating an immersive attraction that mimics getting roofied and attacked by a nude man in addition to a strip club.

The movie's ending, which shows a party where Marilyn Monroe battles a "drag Liza Minelli" as two other nude men engage in mud wrestling in a bathtub, would also not excite its investors.

Additionally, we don't think it's plausible that the movie's rights holders would mistake a tequila shot for a Jägermeister shot.  Additionally, the Mike Tyson picture misspells boxing memorabilia as "buxing," which is an additional red flag.

The survey might have originated from a live-entertainment firm that offers experiences to film studios, hoping to support them with internal data, if it isn't a scam.

To us, however, none of this shouts Warner Bros.  To be honest, it seems like young Kyle is trying to deceive everyone, possibly in an attempt to get his first illustration job after graduating from art school.

However, you're reading about the study because it was already covered by the "Miles to Memories Vegas" and "Five Hundy by Midnight" podcasts last week, and neither of them seriously questioned its veracity.

There is already a "Hangover Experience" exhibit at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum at the Venetian, assuming we are mistaken and this application is approved.  Therefore, either the new experience would need to come up with a new name or that would need to be rebranded.

Kyle, good luck getting your first job!
