iGaming Ontario Invites Bids for a Unified Self-Exclusion System

Early in 2024, iGaming Ontario plans to release a request for proposals for a centralized self-exclusion system. In addition to integrating with all operator systems and offering a smooth, user-friendly experience, the desired solution should put player support and responsible gaming first. In order to create a transparent and non-stigmatized system, iGO prioritizes a contemporary, inventive, and safe approach.

Seeking Ideas for a 2024 Self-Exclusion Program, iGaming Ontario

In order to transform player protection, iGaming Ontario (iGO) has announced that it will be launching a request for proposals (RFP) for a centralized self-exclusion solution in early 2024. Through a single registration process, the regulator envisions a system that allows players to easily self-exclude from all iGaming operators in the province.

As stated by iGaming Ontario, the desired outcome requires an all-encompassing strategy. The successful bidder will be responsible for creating and putting into place a centralized self-exclusion system that interfaces with all operator systems. The self-exclusion registration, renewal, and reinstatement procedures should be supported by this system for players.

Companies that can create "modern, innovative, secure cloud-based SaaS solutions" that adhere to the regulator's centralized self-exclusion guidelines are being actively sought after by iGaming Ontario. A player-focused, encouraging, transparent, safe, reliable, and sustainable system is emphasized by these principles.

A user-friendly experience is crucial, and the regulator emphasizes this by saying that the central self-exclusion should be “easy to use with minimal barriers and challenges.”

It should also offer an easy way to connect to pertinent support services and be given in a way that is "non-judgmental and non-stigmatized."

By putting this cutting-edge self-exclusion system into place, iGaming Ontario hopes to bolster player safety protocols and promote a more secure and responsible gaming environment. The centralized self-exclusion solution RFP, which will be posted on MERX early in 2024, will be a significant step toward enhancing the overall integrity of the Canadian province's iGaming industry.

iGaming Ontario Is Looking for an Easy-to-Use Self-Exclusion System

The service must also ensure that all operators and players are aware of the guidelines, expectations, and penalties. Additionally, it must safeguard player data and only divulge it to the staff members who need to know in order to run the program.

In addition, for the centralized self-exclusion to support the player's objectives, "strong processes and procedures bolstered by secure, responsive, and highly available technology" as well as manageable, valuable systems and procedures are needed.

The following features for the centralized self-exclusion have also been listed by the iGO: player creation and management of their self-exclusion profile with KYC ID verification; easy access to the service at any time on any iGO-regulated website; and straightforward, supportive, and easy registration, renewal, and reinstatement procedures.

iGO claims that the request for proposals for the centralized self-exclusion solution will be hosted on the MERX platform early in 2024.

In partnership with the iGO, the successful bidder will start a "multi-year program to develop best-in-class user experiences by leveraging modern, innovative technology."
